In response to the infuriating remarks of Attorney General Eric Holder calling America a “nation of cowards” Lt. Col. (R) Allen B. West, issued the following statement calling for the immediate resignation of AG Holder:

LTC(R) Allen West

Greetings readers, I have held my peace long enough to allow Attorney General Eric Holder an opportunity to rectify his faux pas from last week. I am now compelled to offer my insights into Attorney General Holder’s epidemic of diarrhea of the mouth when he called our Country a “Nation of Cowards”.

Whenever I think of fools speaking unwisely I am drawn to the writings of one who is considered the wisest man the world has ever known, not you Bill Clinton. Rather, I speak of King Solomon and his words from the Book of Proverbs.

Solomon certainly has some advice which Eric Holder may wish to take to heart. I shall use The Soldiers New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs, Holman Christian Standard Bible

Proverbs 15:7 “The lips of the wise broadcast knowledge, but not so the heart of fools”

Proverbs 15:14 “The discerning mind seeks knowledge, but the mouth of fools feed on foolishness”

For Eric Holder to castigate our America as a “nation of cowards”, being someone who has capitalized on every opportunity this Country could afford, is pure foolishness. It also represents a malicious narcissism and hypocrisy from someone purported to be of great education.

I am a West Man, third of four generations of military servicemen; Dad World War II combat wounded veteran, older Brother Vietnam Marine combat wounded veteran, my serving 22 years active duty in 13 different countries and three combat zones, and my young nephew, Captain Herman Bernard West, commanding an artillery unit serving his second tour in Afghanistan. We are proud American black Men who certainly are not indicative of a “nation of cowards”. Holder’s comments are offensive to the legacy my Dad established for our family.

Perhaps also Attorney General Holder forgot about the many white Americans, and Jewish persons, who marched during the civil rights movement, some cowards huh?

Attorney General Holder, do not ever refer to my Country with such manner of disrespect. I have stood with Americans in many foreign lands, seen them everyday across this Nation, and we are not cowards!

Proverbs 17:28 “Even a fool is considered wise when he keeps silent, discerning when he seals his lips”

Attorney General Holder has certainly lost respect as the enforcer of our Nation’s laws. It would have bided him best to have kept his comment to himself, even though it must be in his heart. It has to be evident to the American people that this person cannot be trusted to protect a County which he holds in such disdain.

What could have persuaded Holder to make such an insidious comment and believe he would not be challenged? And anyone defending his comment or ignoring it is complicit in this terrible offense against our great Nation.

If Holder had any honor, which I doubt, he would have apologized. Since an apology seems to not be an option, Attorney General Holder MUST resign.

If Holder does not resign then President Obama MUST dismiss Eric Holder from his Cabinet, or perhaps Obama and his cabinet hold the same contempt for America?

Proverbs 18:6 “A fools lips lead to strife, and his mouth provokes a beating”

My recommendation to Holder is to stay away from places where we cowards congregate; military bases, NASCAR races, around law enforcement officers, first responders, Southeast Conference college football and basketball games, Boy Scout meetings, biker bars, VFW and American Legion Posts, youth soccer games, anywhere true Americans exist.

Remain in those places where the bravest victims in America exist; your office, the White House, Ivy League schools, Hollywood, NAACP offices, Oprah Winfrey Show, and MSNBC. Cowardice is voting for an inexperienced usurper and charlatan just because he is black, do not be confused.

Yes, I am angry and therefore Attorney General Eric Holder you have earned a lifetime membership in The Phallus Cranium Club.

Sir, you are not there alone, Speaker Pelosi, Barney Frank, and Rod Blagojevich are members, and Congressman Clyburn of South Carolina membership is being processed as well.

Steadfast and Loyal!

LTC(R) Allen B West..aka AW

Fellow South Florida riders, greetings and it is time again to have our monthly analysis and assessment of developments out of our Nation’s capitol. We are still under one month in our new Obama administration and we have much to discuss. This past Saturday we had a rally to kickoff our 2010 Congressional campaign and I spoke using a simple theme, “How did we get to this point”? I would like to use that theme for this month’s piece.

How did we get to the point where we are told that “only government” can remedy our current economic situation. Last time I checked it was government that placed us in this situation. When government made the fateful decision that everyone in America was entitled to own a home this terrible crisis was born.

Home ownership is a privilege, not a right, however those in Washington brought forth legislation which lowered standards for mortgage lending. It also pressured financial institutions that tried to maintain appropriate lending standards and levied fines against them for non-compliance. When government places entitlement over empowerment you will head down the raod to perdition, which is where we find our America heading.

Now we face another economic stimulus plan, first was the Troubled Asset Recovery Plan (TARP) aka bailout, which truly is nothing more than a big government spending spree. More government is not the answer to our financial woes, the answer lies with the American taxpayer. President Obama continues a fear mongering tactic to get us to believe that this plan is what is needed. A recent Congressional Budget Office analysis, and many top economists, stated that we could do nothing and be better off than with this plan.

How did we come to the point where we no longer respect the indomitable American spirit to be resilient and push past this crisis. When did we lose faith in realizing that putting money back into the pockets of the American citizen is the way to restore an ailing economy? When we focus on empowering the American taxpayer, our small businesses, and entrepreneurs then our economy will grow.

Why not simply say we are going to eliminate capital gains, dividend, and death taxes. We should no longer tax social security benefits. We could freeze employer and employee payroll taxes for six months to a year and create wealth for our families. Why not establish a flat tax rate with standard deductions for individuals, corporations, and businesses and provide tax credits to those who stay in America, hire Americans, and produce American goods and services. We need to look towards stimulating investment, innovation, ingenuity, and economic growth…..not bloating government and increasing our deficit.

And do not forget, there is no provision for use of e-verify in this stimulus bill, how many of these “shovel ready” jobs will go to illegal immigrants?

How did we come to the point where we do not assess our foreign aid spending and make the cuts there? We should look at the $925 Million we send to the UN and say, we are cutting back. Why do we not hear anyone in the federal government, President Obama, Sen Harry Reid, Speaker Nancy Pelosi say, “We are going to examine how government can cut back, reduce spending, and shift money to paying off our debts”? Instead we have, at last count (7) new government positions called Czars…welcome to the United Socialist States of America.

How did we get to the point where our government is now owning financial institutions? I am concerned about that because one of the mandates from the Communist Manifesto is for the state to gain control of banks and financial institutions.

How did we get to the point where a new President would make his first call not to allied leaders but to a Palestinian group leader, Mahmoud Abbas? Where his first interview was to Al Arabiya and his tone was apologetic and appeasing to the muslim world.

How did we get to the point where President Obama felt the most important first executive order was to shut down GITMO, cease military tribunals, and seek to offer our precious American constitutional rights to our terrorist enemies. How many families of those who lost their lives on the USS Cole had their hearts ripped out when charges against these murderers were dropped?

How did we get to the point where our Second Amendment constitutional rights are again under attack with a bill dated 6 Jan 2009 floating around in the US House of Representatives? Be very aware and remain vigilant my fellow Americans.

How did we get to this point? The answer is simple, we grew complacent, apathetic, and lazy. We have now allowed the inmates to run the asylum, speaking of Washington DC. All that should have mattered during the 2008 Presidential election is now starting to matter. We have strayed so far away from our foundational principles of governance and free market capitalism that we are in danger of losing the essence of America.

We have been taken advantage of by a media that was complicit in hiding the truth, and as Goebbels in Nazi Germany, they just kept telling us the “Big Lie”…which then become truth. America is a Republic which means there is a limit of power for the government. It means that “We the People” are the stakeholders and that the rule of law must reign supreme. We have separation of powers and should always on the lookout for consolidation of power. We must reemphasize the preeminence and strict interpretation of our Constitution, the embodiment of the America way of life.

Shall there be a new “tea party”? I say yes, because the American people, not the mindless lemmings who are dead from the neck up, shall stand and demand their Country back. I know what my purpose is, do you?

How did we get to this point, well, that is evident. The real question is “How do We the People recommit to our principles, restore our Republic, and regain our American spirit”?

Ride Hard, Ride Safe

NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg joining American war hero, LTC Allen West, in honoring Lincoln Essay Winners at Queens Fete

Queens Village, NY: Mayor Michael Bloomberg will attend the Lincoln Bicentennial Dinner on Feb 8at Antun’s of Queens Village, to honor the winners of the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Essay Contest.

This non-partisan event sponsored by the historic Queens Village Republican Club, the oldest in America, features an award ceremony for the winners of the competition involving schools throughout New York City. The winning students, who will be awarded $500 savings bonds, their entire families and teachers, will be attending the dinner gratis as special guests of the Club. Along with the Mayor, Assemblywoman Barbara Clark(D-Queens Village) Senator Frank Padavan (R-Bellerose), Councilman Leroy Comrie (D-Jamaica) and other public officials will be presenting the honors. Glen Oaks Village Owners Corp. and their president Robert Friedrich, and Dr. Dolores M. Fernandez, president of Hostos Community College have provided generous funds for the students.

John Catsimatidis has pledged funds for the award ceremony as well. Catsimatidis, who spoke at last year’s Lincoln Dinner about his ascent from early poverty as a new immigrant to the summit of the American dream, is a potential candidate for Mayor.

The Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Essay Contest is a Social Studies/United States History project for Elementary, Middle and High School students.

Endorsed by the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission (ALBC) established by Congress in 2000, this project endeavors to enrich the study about our greatest American president and allow students to discover what it means to be an American in the 21st century by studying Lincoln’s legacies of democracy, equality and freedom.

This educational project is the official Queens Bicentennial Event and part of the nationwide Bicentennial commemoration of the birth of our 16th President (1809-2009).

The competition had students researching and writing essays on the topic: “What Does the Life and Legacy of Abraham Lincoln Mean to Me?” Several of the jubilant student winners will read excerpts from their essays and exalt in a photo op with New York‘s “Education Mayor” Michael Bloomberg.

Mayor Bloomberg will also participate in the honor ceremonies for some other notable figures at the Lincoln Dinner. The Educator of the Year award will go to New York’s most distinguished education reformer, Hon. Herman Badillo, who was the first Puerto Rican to be elected to Congress and to the office of Bronx Borough President. As Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the City University of New York, Badillo led a successful effort to end open enrollment and revamp the curriculum turning CUNY into a world class institution from a dismal diploma mill.

The recipient of the Lincoln Bicentennial Award, Decorated War Hero, Lt. Col. Allen West, will deliver the keynote address of the dinner. He ran for Congress in Florida, winning 45% of the vote and has been lauded as one of the great black conservative voices in America today, and as new RNC Chairman Michael Steel put it: “a great man with the stature of Abe Lincoln.” LTC West will also address the Bicentennial topic: “What Does the Life and Legacy of Abraham Lincoln Mean to Me?”

Abe Lincoln of our Times
Introducing Lt. Col. Allen West
Lincoln Bicentennial Dinner Keynote Speaker
and recipient of Lincoln Bicentennial Award

westimage2

February 3, Queens Village, NY: When Republican candidate Lt. Col. Allen B. West, U.S. Army (Ret.) was running for U.S. Congress in Florida in 2008, his supporters declared him “a true American hero with the charisma of Ronald Reagan,” a “great man with the stature of Lincoln,” and “presidential material.” His adversaries label him a “crazed wingnut who represents all that is wrong with the war,” and MSNBC political commentator Keith Olbermann named him the “Worst Person in the World.”

Ladies and gentlemen, The Queens Village Republican Club and the Go West Blog proudly present Lt. Col. Allen West. On the occasion of Lincoln’s 200th birthday celebration LTC West will be honored with the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Award on Feb 8th at the Lincoln Bicentennial Dinner at Antun’s of Queens Village. West picked up 45% of the vote in last year’s campaign for Florida’s 22nd Congressional District, losing to incumbent Representative Ron Klein (D-FL-22). Just as Lincoln lost to Stephen Douglas for the Illinois U.S. Senate seat in 1858 by a slim margin, but gained national prominence and won the presidency of the United States in 1860, West debated Ron Klein who then went into hiding, and West’s path is now on a similar trajectory to Lincoln’s.

Saturday evening, one week before the Feb 8th event, West held a live nationwide conference call with dozens of his core supporters, energizing the troops for the two year battle ahead starting with his award dinner in New York. In the first “Town Call Meeting,” with a Q&A format, West expressed his delight with the election of another black GOP standard bearer, Michael Steele, as chairman of the RNC. Steele is not just a token black because the other party’s got one, West said, but an articulate media savvy voice who will communicate the conservative grassroots message to the town halls and town squares across America. This is the start of the new GOP.

Looking back at 2008, West said we lost the image war with the former Bush administration’s failure to communicate to the American people, and we lost the substance war since the McCain campaign didn’t have a solid foundational platform. So, instead the message came out according to whichever way the wind was blowing at the time. West went on to outline the strategies for the GOP to win both the image war and the substance war.

The image war will be won by someone young, appealing and media savvy, not an elderly Mr. Wilson type from the Dennis the Menace genre. West learned the importance of image as a commander in the military since you were always assessed before you even opened your mouth. We’ve got to get the party into the 21st century, said West, taking advantage of new technologies such as YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and a new venue called BlogTalkRadio which carries Freedom Radio, a talk show hosted by conservative Patricia Carfagno.

On the substance war, West said we will win when we take a principled stand on the issues, and never back down. On such issues as illegal immigration, national security, the stimulus bill, individual responsibility, energy independence, elevating the individual over the collective, limited government and all the rest that Rush, Hannity, Glen Beck, Joyce Kaufman, The Kato Institute, the Heritage Foundation and many others have been hammering the Republicans for years, we need to formulate a platform and get it out there. Just as Lincoln stuck to the nascent Republican Party’s platform of the non-expansion of slavery and the Declaration of Independence, and saved the Union, we need to craft a set of principles based upon our Constitution and Declaration of Independence and stick to it.

Earlier this past summer, a group of New Yorkers who attended a Go West fundraiser in Manhattan, became instant supporters and formed the Go West Blog. Since West was a military commander and decorated war hero, who served America on the battlefield for 22 years, he came across as a political figure people can rely on to take his oath to public office to protect and defend the Constitution from enemies foreign and domestic. His call to stand up for our American core values, which are being quickly deconstructed, harkened back to the core group of Spartans who stood with Leonidas against the invading Persian armies and saved Western Civilization. More than a political campaign, this became a crusade to save America and our core principles from being eroded.

Back in August, the Go West Blog team launched a nationwide on-line petition drive to have West speak at the Republican National Convention in order for his voice to reach a wider audience. The petition, although it had 1000’s of signatures never reached the eyes and ears of “old guard” of the Republican establishment. Now with new RNC chairman Michael Steele, who praised West as a man “with the stature of Lincoln” and helped him in his Congressional campaign, there is a new wave enveloping the GOP and LTC Allen West is one of the rising stars.

On February 8th West will give a keynote address at the Lincoln Bicentennial Dinner that will set the tone for the next phase of the Republican/Conservative movement. He will speak on the legacy and meaning of Lincoln’s principles and why it matters for Americans today. For years since its inception in 1875, the historic Queens Village Republican Club, the oldest in the nation, has been hosting Lincoln Day Dinners in order for the Republican Party to recommit itself to be the party Lincoln intended it to be. Lincoln is one of the founders of the then revolutionary Republican Party, the new Party of anti-slavery Northerners who stood against the idle Southern aristocrats and their economic system based upon human bondage that the Democratic Party championed. Like Lincoln, West has taken a solid stand against today’s economic and mental slavery fostered by the entitlement mentality of big overweening government, oil dependence on enemy states and other adversaries eroding our core principles of freedom and liberty. We look forward to hearing his keynote address and carving out a new revolutionary era for the GOP with LTC Allen West at the helm.

Who is Lt. Col. Allen West?

This is a brief bio to introduce Lt. Col. Allen West. Queens Village Republicans have the proud honor of presenting LTC West to address the dinner on the historic occasion of Abraham Lincoln’s 200th birthday commemoration.

Born and raised in Atlanta, Allen West received BS (UT) and MS degrees in political science (KSU). He also holds a Master of Military Arts and Sciences from the US Army Command and General Staff Officer College in political theory and military history and operations. In his 22 years of military service in the U.S. Army he did combat with the world’s most violent terrorists in Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. As a decorated military hero, he has received a Bronze Star, three Meritorious Service Medals, three Army Commendation Medals (one with Valor as a Captain in Desert Shield/Storm), a Valorous Unit Award, and he was the US Army ROTC Instructor of the Year in 1993.

As battalion commander for the Army’s 4th Infantry Division in Iraq, Col. West was responsible for 700 men and women, who were constant targets of Sunni terrorists after the fall of Baghdad. After interrogating an insurgent Iraqi policeman, thereby stopping a planned ambush, he was discharged, fined and demoted by the military for doing what he had to do to protect the lives of the soldiers in his battalion. “I sacrificed my career for my soldiers and that’s the bottom line,” he said. One of his soldiers, Michael Montas said: “I served under you in Iraq at the al-Taji airbase… You made a statement during your trials when asked if you would do it again, to which you said “If it’s about the lives of my men and their safety, I’d go through hell with a gasoline can.” Well sir if you would have to go through hell with a gas can I would drive for you.”

In 2004, when it was time to retire from more than 20 years of service in the US Army, he brought his wife and two young daughters to Broward County, Florida, where he taught high school. He then returned to Afghanistan as an advisor to the Afghan army for two years. In 2007, seeking to serve his country on the home front, he began his campaign for Florida’s 22nd Congressional District, and lost by a narrow margin of 5% to incumbent Ron Klein. He is poised to run again in 2010 and will kick off his glorious campaign for Congressional and higher office on February 8th 2009 at the Lincoln Bicentennial Dinner.
